The bittersweet smiles, belly laughs and eyes rimmed with tears said it all.
They remembered. They felt the moment as if it were yesterday. The pictures of memories danced across the screen during their reception and it was impossible not to be touched by the moment.
It reminded me why I do what I do and how magical a photograph really is.
I wanted to pull up a chair and stroll down memory lane with them…but I needed to tell their next chapter.
I needed to tell their future children how in love they are. I needed to tell them that almost every time they kissed they smiled at the same time. I needed to show the people who weren’t there exactly what it was like to be in the moment with them.
I needed to live vicariously through the couple to appreciate the relationships, the glances, and their personalities that were infused in the details.

My greatest wish for my couples is that they will walk away with a treasure trove of memories, a beautiful love story of their day that show not just their love, but the love around them. Not just a picture, but the feeling.
A photograph is not about the perfect picture, it’s about living the perfect moment.
Maybe Betty Smith said it best, “look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time. Then your time on earth will be filled with glory.”
A picture can only be as good as the memory of the experience. It’s not enough to be in the moment. Be a part of it.
That’s what I loved most about Dominic and Colleen’s happy day. They lived it with zest, enthusiasm and appreciation.
Here is hoping we greet every moment in our lives just the same!
Autumn splendor…
What a clutch!!
I adored the wedding cottage where Colleen got ready. It was so dreamy. Crystals dangled from the ceiling and lace hung gingerly dividing rooms. As if that wasn’t enough a claw foot cast iron tub sat cozy in the corner.
A quick peek…
Last minute touches…
Beautiful locations just add to the day…
On the other side of town…
Very dapper my dear!
John Lennon lyrics…
Killer hair, right?
Who am I kidding?! Killer everything!
Colleen…you’re stunning!
Heading inside for the big moment…
Here comes the bride…
Love the rustic beams…
Some of the guests…
Husband and wife…
Whimsical bubbles…
Being a flowergirl is tough work!
When all was said and done…they had a few moments together alone…
You pretty little thing you!
Signing the marriage certificate. Love that Dom is holding the new addition…
This is so them!
Colleen would ask a question, Dominic would come back with a wise remark…and she would shoot him a look.
And then he would smile and act all innocent.
I adore fun banter.
It was freeeeezing out, but they were total troopers.
How freakin’ fabulous is this sign?!
And the birch too?
*swoooon*
Crystals dripped in between the flowers that hung below the chandelier and the tulle was draped in a wonderful rusty peach around the room.
First dance…
Some more details…
The jack o’ lantern was actually where the cards were held. Pretty awesome, right?!
Salute!
a moment in between…
Colleen and Dominic get the award for most creative cake!
Actually, The Cottage Cakery referred this fabulous couple to me.
Special thanks my dear!!
Boom!
You knew this was coming…
Love them!
Such great, happy sports!
Love how intricate the cake topper was…
How is it possible to be hot and cute at the same time?
YUM!!
The guests helped themselves to a goody bag…not to mention the caramel apples that were their favors.
Pretty nice swag if you ask me…
Reminiscing as images of their past were shown…
Pictures make people happy…
and sentimental…
Envious…lol
Getting comfy…
In a world of their own…
Egging on the crowd after they began to clink their glasses at them to kiss…
Some of you have heard me use the phrase before, “Kissmile”. This is it. A smile kiss.
While the image is similar to the above…I love that they are both cradling each others face here…
Dom and Colleen – I had such fun with you both! I loved every minute. Thank you, thank you for booking with me even though I was located a bit far from you. I can’t tell you how much that meant.
Enjoy every moment of your life together as fully as you did your wedding!
Much happiness always…
xo
p.s.
Super huge thank you to Christine from the Cottage Cakery for the wonderful referral!

Shortly after hurricane Sandy, The Historic Old Bermuda Inn offered complimentary dining to people effected by the storm. Now that is one heck of a venue! I love awesome people.

Tears of joy fill my heart and cheeks watching Dominic and Colleen begin their new lives together. It makes me happy beyound words to see how Dom has grown in such a short time. Watching the scenes unfold brought back many happy memories for me, thinking how small he was to what he has become as a man and husband. I am so greatful he found Colleen, what a beautiful couple they make. Together they smile and laugh and begin a new journey of life together. Continue to be greatful for what each of you have brought together and live your lives with health, happiness and joy.
Love you Both,
DAD
GOD BLESS YOU BOTH
