It was a subtle movement and not particularly graceful but wonderfully adorable.
We were walking to a location, and they were behind me on a narrow boardwalk.
My camera was down as I was juggling gear and they were about to pick up their bags.
During the in-between moment, Joe reached out to pat Liana's head.
It looked so…normal. So them.
Liana’s smile went to another level when he did this, and maybe that’s what made it all the more special.
That little moment in time was theirs. They created it. It was uniquely them.
The moment was slight.
I fumbled for my camera and grabbed an off the cuff shot.
There was no time for composition, to focus or change settings.
When the camera clicked, Liana looked up and said, "he allllways does that."
The photo to you, I’m sure, would perhaps be overlooked among the others.
To me, it was a moment in time that I was lucky enough to see and even more fortunate enough to save.
These moments. We all have them.
Those subtleties, the nuances, the quirks that come out when we think no one is watching.
When I look away or pretend to change my lens, I watch perhaps more closely for the way they interact.
Their subtleties of affection silently communicate all but a whisper to an outsider, yet everything to them and the future generations that will one day hold that photograph.

The hat!!! : )
Along the boardwalk, we saw so many deer!
Happiness
Pitter patter of heads and hearts…
Nothing like the golden hour to bring in some warm yummy light…
I love her too!!
Liana totally worked that hat, right?
Liana said her favorite thing about Joe is when he throws his head back in laughter…
The shot for Mom and Dad…
The 'in-between' moment that is so them!
A fun little structure along the way…
While walking away to get a wide shot, I caught this happy moment.
The bay side of Fire Island…
Hugs!
Love the outfit change!!
This dress was the perfect shade for the muted tones of the beach, plus I love that it had so much movement…
Liana, you're stunning!
Stealing a moment to take it all in…
Chemistry…
My favorite thing about Liana and Joe was how playful they were. They were up for anything; hopping into the sand, piggy back rides and twirling…
One of my favorites…
walking off into the sunset…
Joe and Liana, when I asked you what one of your favorite things to do together was and you said "laundry",
I knew without a doubt you didn't need anything but each other to have a good time.
Thank you for sharing your beginning with me and for giving me the honor
to be the one to celebrate and document your happy day this August.
Can't wait!!

Hi Stacey!
Thank you SO MUCH for a wonderful fun-filled evening at Robert Moses/Fire Island. Your thoughtful process and technique really captured our personalities and love in a natural and genuine way. The weather was perfect, the beach, bay, boardwalk, and lighthouse were all beautiful backdrops. We are blown away by the photos from this engagement photoshoot and cannot wait to work with you on our big day and in the future!!
Ahh Liana and Joe!! Ditto! I loved every second of our adventure. Thank you so very much for letting me be the one who gets to celebrate and document the beginning pages of your story with you. I’m so excited for the big day. It will be here before we know it. Can’t wait!!
