I heard their laughter before I reached the door of their cottage at the Three Village Inn. When the door opened, I was greeted by the sight of a gaggle of girls primping and prepping for the happy day.
Kate looked up at me while her make-up was being applied, and her infamous smile said hello before she did.
***
Like a yawn, a mood or an attitude – those heartfelt, big (“smile until your cheeks hurt”) grins are highly contagious. They are something you don’t see too much of these days. A rare commodity. Perhaps even under-estimated.
Its value is far greater than I think most would give it credit for. A shared smile comes with the added benefit of happiness.
I can’t think of anything more powerful then the ability to change a moment with nothing more than a big grin. What’s even cooler is that we all have that ‘gift’ to give someone. Sometimes though as contagious as it is…we are often looking to catch it from someone rather then be the ‘carriers’.
***
It’s one of the first things you notice about Kate & Jimmy. They have the gift of giving their infectious smiles. Their grins seem to reach from ear to ear, and a smile is never far away from their lips. Especially when they look at one another. It’s almost like magic really. I swear when they smiled the whole room smiled with them.
Happiness is not from being in a great moment – it’s about creating the great moment. I find a smile is the key to getting us there.
***
Here’s hoping we can all carry, catch and spread a little more happiness everyday like Kate and Jimmy do.
Smile BIG…and pass it on! The world needs a happy epidemic. How great would it be if it ‘catches’ on?!
The lovely Kate, and that smile…
Gettin’ dolled up…
The make-up bags were a gift from Kate to her bridesmaids.
Each one was a bit different…
Coral (my favorite) was the color of the day, which made me extra happy!
Kate’s Mom and sister helping with the last minute prep…
This was a sweet moment. The bridesmaids were holding on to each other for support in awe of Kate…
The gorgeous earrings were an Etsy find…and speaking of gorgeous…hellooooo Kate!!
While on the walk from the cottages to the Inn I grabbed a quick shot…
Seeing some friendly faces through the window before the ceremony as they scooted by…
*swoon*
The kraft paper and buttons – LOVE a bit of whimsy!
Annnd you have no idea what a welcoming sight this is when it’s super hot outside.
The guests loved it, and I thought it totally added to the ambiance of the day.
Jimmy waiting patiently for the first glimpse of his bride…
and the moment he saw her….
I seriously couldn’t get enough – it seems, neither could he! : )
loveliness…
The support system…was well, supporting each other in between wiping away happy tears!
Yay!
and right before their first kiss as husband and wife…
The new Mr. & Mrs.
The favors for the guests were personalized bottles of amber ale beer that was brewed in their hometown of Northport…
The charming centerpieces were the perfect fit for their day, and looked lovely at the Three Village Inn.
Now, this is a family that has a sense of humor!
Bernie is Kate’s Uncle, who for some reason is never in any pictures.
SO, they made a life size cut-out version of him so they could be sure he was included this time around. It was the hit of the night…and it even made it to the dance floor to body surf over the crowd a few times!
To the left is the fabulous seating chart. The guests names and table numbers were strung from a line on an old wooden door. Once the guests took their seating tag, they left in its place a polaroid picture of themselves.
Contagious I tell you…
See?!
Jimmy and his Mom…
‘Mud (Dirt) Cups’…remember them from when you were a kid?
Jimmy is not a cake eater. I know…I hear you all gasping. : )
Kate’s Mom made him a thoughtful special treat – which he was super happy about!
In Kate’s family it’s a tradition to have a seven layer cake at family events. So they brought along a mini one to make this special occasion complete.
When all is said and done, all we are left with is the sweetest memory, and the tangible evidence in a photograph…
It’s because of clients like you that I go to ‘work’ with a smile on my face.
Thank you Kate and Jimmy for making me feel as if I’m the luckiest girl in the world for getting the opportunity to document one of the most precious times in your life.
I hope Italy is treating you both well!

A special thank you to Toni, (my up-coming July 2013 bride) for referring Kate & Jimmy to me!

Toni, it was so nice of you to refer me to Kate and Jimmy! Thank you so much for the kind words and for leaving a comment here. I can’t wait for your upcoming e-session and wedding! : )
Stacey, you did a fabulous job as usual! Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple and their families! It looks like it was a lovely wedding! Jim and Ann – I was as surprised to see your son on here as you are now seeing a comment from me!- I’ve been following Stacey’s blog ever since she did a photo shoot of Meghan a few years ago and also took pictures at Lauren’s wedding in 2010. She’s the best!
PAT!! I’m SO happy you are still visiting my blog. Speaking of grinning from ear to ear…you made my day! Thank you for always leaving such wonderful comments, and for continuing to support me. You’re the best!
Dear Stacey,
Tears are streaming down my face. This is the sweetest, most endearing sneak peak of wedding photos I think I’ve ever seen. You’ve captured the essence of Kate and Jimmy so perfectly. Thank you for sharing your talents with our families and friends. It was such a pleasure to meet you and several guests commented on how wonderful you were, so friendly but very considerate of everyone 🙂
I cannot wait to see what comes next!
Kindest regards,
Anne Schwecherl
Awwww…Mrs. Schwecherl, thank you so much for leaving such a wonderful note. It was SO nice of you to take the time to leave such happy words. You made my week! I’m excited to share the rest of the gallery as soon as it’s ready.
Fondly,
Stacey : )
Stacey YOU are the amazing one. We only met with one photographer and “you had us at hello!” The pictures are fantastic, but even more special for us was they way that you enjoyed the wedding and thought that it was as wonderful as we did. BRAVO!!!
Mrs. Nichols!
The feelings are mutual! : ) From the moment we met, I knew I was in for a great day. Your family and friends were truly wonderful. But, I kinda knew that they would be…cause ‘birds of a feather flock together’! ; ) Thank you so very much for giving me the opportunity to be a small part of their day.
It was such a fabulous pleasure to photograph Kate and Jimmy’s love.

Wow…great shots–what an eye for great content…but mostly I am wowed by your creativity.
I love photographs, but do not have good memories of photographers at weddings. But YOU…you were more like a guest, a part of the party…rather than someone getting in the way of the event. Speaking of getting in the way…I was the first to get in your way…trying to snap my own shots. You were so great about it…never got annoyed. To the contrary you accomodated me!
Love your blog…you are very talented.
Jackie (Cyn’s sista)
Thank you SO much Jackie for such a fabulous note! I really appreciate that you took the time to write and let me know your thoughts.
There really isn’t any other event quite like a wedding. The relationships between family and friends, the love between the couple…it’s practically impossible for me not to take it personally. I’m very fortunate that wonderful families like yours, invite me to be a little ‘fly’ on the wall during one of the most memorable moments of their lives.
I hope you got some lovely pics too…it’s kinda hard not to with such a fabulous couple like Kate and Jimmy though! ; )
Thank you again for stopping in!

Hi Stacey,
I was not able to fly out from Chicago to make Kate and Jimmy’s wedding, but have been hanging on to any glimpse I could get of their special day through photos. Your sneak peek was so amazing and personal, capturing genuine moments that made me feel like I was right there. I was teary as I looked through the pictures you took of my family that I miss so dearly.
Thank you for posting these beautiful pictures!
~ Jennifer Guerrero (Kate’s cousin)
I’m thrilled that you felt as if you were there Jennifer! That is precisely what I want to accomplish. What I hope the images convey more then anything, is not so much what we see…but rather what we feel. Oh, the sweet irony! : )
You made my night. Thank you!!

Stacey, What a wonderful job! . . . Your photographs capture the joy we all felt and the beautiful environs in which this very special event took place. We absolutely loved viewing these photographs today! Amazing …
Best regards,
Kathleen Kiernan
(Longtime Schwecherl Family friend, New Nichol’s Family friend!)
Thank you Kathleen for taking the time to stop by the blog and leave such kind words!!

Stacey, these are absolutely beautiful. Your attention to detail is exquisite and your ability to capture everything and everyone in the right moment, incredible. Can’t wait to see the album in its entirety; I hope you’re still in the wedding business when I decide to get married!
Awww, thanks Emma!! I’m excited for you to see the entire gallery too. I plan on being in the business for a while…soooo…we’ll def. talk when the time comes!! : )

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pics. If I ever get married/have a wedding, I’m calling you guys. (may take a few decades, we’ll see.) thanks again you all are amazing!
I would LOVE the opportunity to photograph your family again!! I had such a fabulous time. So yes, please keep me in mind when that happy day comes. : ) Thanks Laura for taking the time to stop in and leave a comment!

Truly lovely. I regret that I didn’t know about you before my daughter’s wedding, which took place in June in NJ. From what I can see here, you did a far better job than the photographer we hired. The families who hire you will obviously be very happy with your work. Lucky them!
Aww Joanna thank you for leaving such a nice comment. Finding the right photographer can be a process in such an overly saturated market. I’m sure your daughter’s day was super lovely and a picture by any means is tangible proof of a moment that can never be lost. Treasure them!

I just stumbled upon your photos at the Three Village Inn Facebook page, Stacey, and had to comment. The Inn has always been a special place to me, but I’d never considered having a wedding there before. Well, after seeing your gorgeous photos and the beautiful wedding that Kate and Jimmy threw, I think that’s just the kind of wedding I’d love! (Now I just have to find a man–lol!) I may be a complete stranger, but it’s obvious what special, loving people they are from your photos. And I’m delighted by their wedding choices–so many sweet, meaningful, creative ideas! I hope that I remember them when I finally get married 😉 Loved the lemonade and the flowers on top of the books–so sweet, and so clever. You truly captured a special day, Stacey–I hope you’re still taking pictures when my day comes 🙂 Congratulations and best wishes to Kate and Jimmy on their life together (And I have to tell them, I think our families might be separated at birth, because that photo cut-out of their uncle is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen, and would be right up my family’s alley, lol!)
Elizabeth!! Thank you. Seriously. I loooved that you took a moment to actually comment after stumbling across this blog. Your words brought a huge smile to my face! Three Village Inn is a charming venue, and Kate and Jimmy totally made the day more enchanting by adding their personal touches to the day. I have another wedding from August that I will be posting on the blog soon from the same venue, and one scheduled in September, so keep checking in. I would love to’see’ you again. Hopefully our paths will cross in the near future…
