I love what I do. That’s indeed an understatement.
I thought it might be because I love my couples. I thought it might be because I like a good love story. I even thought it might have been because of all the glamour in the details (dress, venue, decor).
Now, while all of that is true to some extent, after over analyzing things (like usual), I found what I love best are the relationships that surround the couple on their happy day. For me it’s a true glimpse into their world. The memories, and moments the bride and the groom have shared with their guests all come to the surface in their expressions, stories and enthusiastic hugs.
The people celebrating with the couple sew together their past, present and future. It’s one of the only times in life where they will have everyone who has ever meant something to them all in one room.
I think family and friends enrich the lives of the bride and the groom tremendously, and in part made them who they are today.
I believe Michael J. Fox said it best, ‘family is not an important thing, it’s everything.’
On Charlie and Alexandra’s happy day they had ‘everything‘ they needed and more.
The beginning…
Charlie said Alexandra’s curls were the first thing he noticed about her…
A little Badgley Mischka makes me happy…
Mr. Sanzone, (Charlie’s Dad) is a tailor, and custom made his son’s fine tuxedo. ..
The moment it all comes together…
Debonair…
You’re stunning my dear…
The lovely florals were from Burton’s.
Arrival at the church…
I’m not sure if the couple knew her or not, but she sat alone saying prayers for the new bride and groom and it made my heart happy.
All the anticipation, all the preparation…for this moment…
Life as it happens…
Alexandra and Charlie made arrangements to have their pictures taken at Planting Fields in Oyster Bay.
If it wasn’t for the lightening, I could have stayed there all night! What a BEAUTIFUL place.
This image was taken on the walk to our location…
There is nothing more exciting to a photographer then when a couple plans well for their formals.
If a ‘first look’ before the ceremony is not an option, having a nice amount of time in between the ceremony and the reception is SO fabulous.
Many things can occur that can change the timeline. Stuff that you never would have suspected.
Because Alexandra and Charlie planned ahead – we were hardly effected by any circumstances.
Huge hug and kisses for that! : )
I love killer architecture…not to mention a pretty awesome couple!
A cathedral veil…so romantic…
Big rain drops started to fall on the way out.
The umbrella made the most useful, perfect prop.
Cocktail hour!
How cool is this fabulous piece of stunning decor?
The whimsical champagne like ‘tree’ greeted guests upon their arrival.
Time for the party!!
LOVE the medallions on this cake.
The best part was not even what was on the outside but was in the inside.
Nutella and peanut butter…mmm…mmmmm…mmmmmmmmmmmm!
Mother and son dance…
Father and daughter…
Hooray!
Yippee…
I’m a fan of a bit of lens flare at times.
I’ll end it with a big group hug that happened after the children performed a surprised choreographed dance for the new husband and wife…
Charlie and Alexandra, thank you for letting me be a part of your day and giving me the opportunity to witness the celebration of your marriage annnd the amazing ‘gift’ of family and friends.
