Sound of Music

Marc + Kerry

I heard once that music is what feelings sound like. It kinda struck a chord with me. ; )

***

I knelt down waiting to capture their first dance as husband and wife, when I heard that old familiar music start.

With the first note, I was grateful for my camera that hid my tears. Funny how a song can get you sometimes, right?

Music has a way of doing that to me often. Maybe it’s a lyric, maybe it’s a certain chord…whatever it is, it goes straight to the soul.

The song Marc and Kerry picked was what I danced with to my husband ten years earlier. Needless to say they have very good taste. ; )

Dancing in the dark Middle of the night

Taking your heart And holding it tight Emotional touch Touching my skin And askin’ you to do What you’ve been doing All over again

Oh, it’s a beautiful thing Don’t think I can keep it all in I’ve just gotta let you know What it is that won’t let me go

It’s your love It just does something to me It sends a shock right through me I can’t get enough And if you wonder About the spell I’m under Oh it’s your love

Better than I was More than I am And all of this happened By taking your hand And who I am now Is who I wanted to be And now that we’re together I’m stronger than ever, I’m happy and free

Oh, it’s a beautiful thing Don’t think I can keep it all in And if you ask me why I’ve changed All I gotta do is say your sweet name

It’s your love It just does something to me It sends a shock right through me I can’t get enough And if you wonder About the spell I’m under Oh it’s your love…

Here is hoping when the memories start to fade, the song remembers when…

Now, I usually stick to the front during the processional, but decided to switch it up.

The aisle was super long and just as the doors opened, as Kerry’s Dad glanced her way, I caught Marc at the end of the aisle. My intention was to capture just Kerry and her Dad, but I saw this and loved the story it told. Kerry looking at her future with anticipation, her Dad looking at his little girl lovingly, and Marc being overwhelmed with emotion at the first look at his beautiful wife.

Sometimes there are off-the-cuff moments. The moment is moving so fast at times you don’t have a second to compose, or adjust your settings – you can only shoot on instinct. Even though it’s an in between moment, I still love the feel of the next two.

To me they exude such happiness, the amazing rush of it all and moving onto their next chapter…

I love seeing small parts of the bigger picture. It helps your imagination wander a bit. I like to wander…or is it wonder.

I like to wander as I wonder…
